2 Corinthians 4:16 - 18 (NKJV)

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

After they had inflicted many blows on them, they threw them in jail, ordering the jailer to keep them securely guarded. Receiving such an order, he put them into the inner prison and secured their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills - from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth...The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Abba Father You are our Deliverer; it is You that showers us with goodness and mercy in the face of evil; when the ugliness of the world surrounds us we can still sing Your praises confident in Your Promise of a better tomorrow; what men intend for evil You will turn into Good. It is in the name of our Lord, our Savior, and our Protector Christ Jesus that we pray. Amen.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Abba Father we have been given the unbridled joy of Your Son Jesus Christ and in that great joy we have His strength which assures us of the ultimate victory no matter how rigorous the journey, may the world always see the joy of Jesus that is within us and completes us.
